What Your Sales Visit Will Look Like:
- Your visit will be scheduled for 1 hour or less
- For ours and your safety, please limit your visit to 2 family members in the showroom during the appointment time.
- Guests will be screened prior to entry for any symptoms of COVID-19
- A sanitization station has been set up, that we will require guests to visit upon entering
- You will be directed to a designated area in the dealership that has been established to ensure physical distance.
- If you are taking a test drive, a designated route will be provided, and all test drives are to be no longer than 10 mins in duration.

To Our Tom Smith Chevrolet Customers, Vendors and Staff,
We continue to be open to serve you during this unprecedented time during this COVID-19 pandemic. This is in accordance to being part of the Province of Ontario’s “List of Essential Services”. During our provincial State of Emergency. This allows us not only to keep your vehicle operating in its peak condition, but also the means to replace it should you find it necessary.
The safety and health of our community is always a top priority for us. In consideration with the ever-growing global concerns around the COVID-19 (coronavirus), we wanted to share with you that we are, and always have been committed to providing clean and healthy spaces for our clients and staff. As part of maintain our high standards, we have taken additional measures to keep everyone safe as outlined in our COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan.
COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
FACILITY MODIFICATIONS. We have made changes throughout our dealership to enhance safety such as: limiting entrance doorways to control the number of people entering our dealership, restricting customer access areas and installation of acrylic guards at areas where physical distancing is challenged. All entrances have signage to alert visitors before they enter the building about self assessment and the social distancing and face mask requirements we have in place.
ENHANCED SANITIZATION. We have always been committed to providing you, our valued client, together with our team with a safe, clean and healthy environment. We have further enhanced our cleaning protocols by using an aggressive disinfectant that is a virucide and effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria. This combined with an increase in the frequency of sanitizing high-traffic touchpoints and customer areas is designed to protect everyone.
ACTIVE SCREENING. All staff are screened according to the health unit criteria before entering the building for their shift. Visitors are requested to self evaluate and to sign in upon arrival before conducting their business.
HAND SANITIZERS. Our dealership is equipped with strategically placed hand sanitizer dispensers for guests and team members to use. Our team is also required to wash their hands frequently.
MASK PROVISION. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, our frontline staff are instructed to wear supplied masks for your safety. In return all clients are required to wear masks when visiting our dealership.
SAFETY COMMUNICATION. Updated Information from the Province and Simcoe Muskoka District Health unit is shared with staff. Additional information is communicated to our team through our internal website, email newsletters and signage. We have safety officers assigned to our dealership who is responsible for ensuring best practices are being followed.
ETIQUETTE CHANGE. Our team members have been instructed to refrain from shaking hands and to maintain a safe distance in accordance with social distancing protocols. They are required to wear a face mask when social distancing is a challenge.
TEST DRIVES. Our dealership is offering test drives. For your safety while adhering to social distancing protocols. Test drives are limited to 10 minutes in duration and only 2 people are allowed in the vehicle. If one of those people is a member of our staff the windows of the vehicle must be open during the test drive. The selected vehicle has been thoroughly cleaned, and then sanitized before handing off the vehicle for you to drive.
SERVICE WORK. Your vehicle’s driver seat and steering wheel will be protected with disposable covers upon arrival. All service work will be performed by technicians wearing disposable gloves. Your vehicle will be thoroughly cleaned and as an additional measure, all driver touchpoint areas will be sanitized.
TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS. Team members who choose to travel internationally for personal reasons are required to self-isolate for 14 days upon their return.
To help protect yourself and others, we kindly as that anyone who is feeling sick to refrain from visiting us so that we can ensure a safe and pleasant experience for everyone. The Public Health Agency of Canada is asking Canadians who have recently traveled to limit their contact with others for a period of 14 days. This means to self-isolate and stay at home.
