Equinox Vs Escape

Equinox Vs Escape

equinox vs escape

The Chevrolet Equinox is a crossover SUV that was introduced by Chevrolet in 2004. It was intended as a replacement for Chevrolet Tracked and the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer.  Chevrolet completely redesigned the Equinox in 2018 for the first time since 2010. The new model is slightly smaller and more responsive, with a lineup of turbocharged four-cylinder engines and Chevrolet’s latest MyLink infotainment system

The Chevolet Equinox has been in direct competition with the Ford Escape for many years. Both models have been providing drivers and families with fuel-efficient and versatile performance for years. They have a lot of similarities but also differences that make the Chevrolet Equinox stand out.
Both of these crossover SUVs feature a  1.5 litre turbo charged engine, but the Equinox features 4 cylinders, while the escape only has 3. This along with the 203 pound-feet of torque, provide the Equinox with a bit more ooomp on the road.

In terms of towing, they are comparable. They can both tow a light trailer, or a hitch mounted cargo box, or a bike carrier. If you’re looking to tow your large trailer you will want to look at a larger SUV or truck with more towing capability.

A lot of families are looking at the Equinox vs Escape when it comes to fuel economy. The Equinox comes out on top in this category.  The Chevrolet Equinox gets an estimated 24/30 MPG (City/Highway). While the Ford Escape is at an estimated 26/32 MPG (City/Highway)

The Chevy Equinox is slightly larger on the outside and sits on a longer wheelbase. Their interiors are almost identical. Both seat 5 and have similar sizes when it comes to leg room/head room.

Both family friendly SUVs offer an array of safety features including; forward collision, auto emergency braking, intelli beam auto highbeams, rear cross traffic alert, and rear vision camera. In addition to these features the Chevrolet Equinox also has front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist and teen driver technology included in their standard features.

Equinox Vs Escape are pretty much head to head when it comes to their features and capabilities. However one very important factor when it comes to buying a car is price. The Chevrolet Equinox comes out on top for this as well. The MRSP for the Equinox is $28,945- $36,625. The Ford Escape is $33,049 – $47,879. This makes the Equinox a little lighter on the wallet.
