GMC continues to disrupt the crossover SUV segment with its professional-grade lineup of models. The 2026 GMC Terrain is just a year removed from its last major redesign, but still brings plenty of new elements to customers. The biggest change between last year and the 2026 model year is the introduction of the AT4 and Denali trim grades. These additional rungs on the trim ladder played into independent experts’ praise of the SUV’s bold design cues, updated infotainment technology and long list of standard safety features. Follow along with Tom Smith Chevrolet while we take a closer look at this premium crossover SUV platform.

Cargo Volume
Regardless of all the refinements built into the 2026 Terrain, it still must be convenient to use and meet the changing needs of its drivers. When the rear of the SUV is filled with passengers, there are 844 litres of cargo volume. Folding the rear seat away makes 1,798 litres available.

It makes 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. It will record up to 9.9 L/100 km in the city and 8.5 L/100 km on the highway.
Off-Road Capability
Tom Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC customers who are a bit more adventurous should ask about the off-road capability offered by the 2026 Terrain AT4. It’s equipped with several off-road-ready features, including a trim-specific Terrain mode for low-speed crawling through difficult surfaces.
