Sierra Vs Tundra

Sierra Vs Tundra

You’ve decided on buying a new truck. You may be looking around and comparing models and brands. With such a big purchase you need to do the research and know what will work best for you. This is a comparison of Sierra Vs Tundra.

Firstly the Tundra is only available with their 3.5 litre V6 Engine. Where the GMC Sierra comes standard with a 2.7 L 14 TurboMax with additional options of 5.3L V8 and 3.0 16 Turbo Diesel. Having options is nice.

The Tundra has a slightly higher towing capability (11,100lbs for the Sierra vs 11,122lbs for the Tundra). However, the GMC has unmatched trailering technology. This includes Jack-knife alert, trailer length indicator and trailer electrical diagnostics. The Sierra also has better all-around visibility with up to 14 camera views including transparent trailer view. The Tundra only has the max of 6 camera views.

The GMC Sierra 1500 is a little wider than the Toyota Tundra, so getting in and out of the truck in a crowded parking lot may be a little more of a squeeze. However, the Sierra has a smaller turning radius making it easier to get around corners than the Tundra. When looking at overall length, the GMC Sierra 1500 takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Toyota Tundra.

On the inside of these trucks the Sierra offers more head room and leg room in both the front and the rear seats, making this a better choice for taller individuals. It has seating capabilities of up to 6, while the Tundra only seats 5.

The price point for both of these trucks is very similar. Starting MSRP for the GMC Sierra 1500 is $66,230-$70,420. The MSRP for the Toyota Tundra is $69,650-$72,220.
